HOW TO SAVE YOUR CANCELLED FAVORITE TV SERIES!

frenchbrioche:

Hey guys, there’s this awesome new site my cousin just made and it’s named my Show Must Go On —-> SMGO <—- and on this site you can suggest tv series that are cancelled or going to get cancelled, vote for it and then fund it (please read the full informations here ). Your money will not be taken unless it’s 100% sure that your show is saved from being cancelled and the site doesn’t charge you a fee! If you’re interested please register on this site and start voting or else the site will have to close and your tv series will never be saved.

PS: Motorcitizens, I count on you, maybe we could save our beloved Motorcity!

RELEVANT

((OK this time its my fault for forgetting I ran this blog))

So Lance, be honest: how do you feel about Ilana? (romantically perhaps?)

your name is the SYM-BIONIC TITAN FANDOM and you suspect the MUTTRADI are behind the cancelling of the show! You utilize HEART MIND BODY. You are moirails with MOTORCITY FANDOM.

((So I’m not the only one thinking “moirails with Motorcity fandom”

Also, what if SBT fandom assumed everyone not most obviously human was mutraddi? It would make good fandom interactions, and well….cmon now Lance’s paranoia would be a decent attribute, since it both causes problem and avoids problem.

and because being as loose as Ilana on the subject just seems unlike us in general.

Other fandoms only know you by that EMBARRASSING TWERKING ACCIDENT that you never want to speak of again, but they’ll never leave you alone. Ever.

You’re family with the SAMURAI JACK fandom and the DEXTER’S LAB fandom.))

The fandom’s gonna have to help with fandomstuck because seriously I’m an old coot

and a lot of the fandom jokes from two years ago are really outdated and only like 10 people would get them.

In short send me stuff in my ask that you think we should add.

Am I the only one who feels like Cartoon Network is missing something?

Am I the only one who feels like Cartoon Network is missing something?

I don’t mean in their line-up either, although lately that’s something MANY of us are only too happy to comment on.

I mean in general.  Particularly their marketing department.

‘Selective’ doesn’t even begin to describe how I am with television shows these days.  Fucking picky comes a lot closer to the mark.  So perhaps I’m out of the loop with how connected TV shows are with their fans lately, but what currently goes on between Green Lantern (the Animated Series)’ s Giancarlo Volpe and the show’s loyal fans, or Fanterns, seems… special.  There’s a genuine delight Giancarlo seems to have in our displays of love for the show, commenting, retweeting, or laughing over our reactions.  (And sometimes our tears.)  We, in turn, love him and the rest of the GLTAS crew, which only increases our fondness for the show as well.

So… you’d think Cartoon Network, in their all-knowing wisdom of getting their fingers onto the pulse of the fandom and finding as many ways as possible to make money off of us, would have noticed this by now.  Perhaps seen our fanart and memes, or the vocal and devoted group of girls and women who adore the show and its characters.  Maybe even spotted that several of us have bemoaned the lack of merchandise for the show, particularly that which is female-friendly.  Women’s T-shirts, perhaps.  Or figurines featuring fan-favorite characters.  (Atrocitus, Saint Walker, and Hal Jordan got these amazing statuettes… but where’s Razer and Aya??)

Meanwhile we’re hearing that the show is getting canned for things like it’s not making enough money or selling enough toys.  First of all, WHAT toys?  When you have fans reduced to making their own Zox plushies (which came out AWESOME, by the way) because they don’t otherwise exist, they’re missing out on something here.  A chibi plushie of Kilowog for starters.  Even when I saw the tentative designs for action figures and what seemed to be a short run of McDonald’s Happy Meal rewards, (once again noting a lack of the female characters,) I couldn’t help thinking “They’re still trying to aim the merchandise at KIDS.  Do they not know how many teens and adults are in love with this show?”

I admit, I might be a tad unreasonable in these desires.  GLTAS’s fanbase, while deeply faithful to the show, isn’t what one would consider ‘huge’.  It’s not starting a craze where every child is wearing a Green Lantern ring, playing their Green Lantern card games during recess, and demanding that their parents buy them all of the latest toys.  This isn’t Pokemon.  But not every show should HAVE to be.  Is it nice when you score a show that spawns a craze and makes money without even trying?  Yeah, that has to be pretty sweet.  But that shouldn’t be the GOAL.  You have a show that inspires creativity and emotions, a connection between the show runners and its fans, and a touchingly supportive and thriving community that holds each other during the series’ heartbreaking moments and high-fives one another when our favorite characters have their BAMF moments.

What I’m trying to say is all it would take is for one somewhat tech-savvy person on Cartoon Network’s marketing team to comb through things like Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr on a regular basis.  ‘Saint Flawless’?  Put that on a coffee mug!  Beautiful artwork?  Maybe commission an image of Aya highlighting her simple shapes and put it on a women’s T-shirt with one of her more popular quotes on the back!  Or maybe they’re just unsure… maybe despite all of our posts, they just don’t know what we Fanterns would like.

Then ASK.

Take polls.  Open up.  Start some dialogue.  None of us are shy about voicing our opinions.  If we feel like we’re being listened to, we’ll be happy to share our input.  Don’t just post blindly on your Twitter and Facebook feeds like NOTHING IS WRONG AND YOU DON’T HAVE A BUNCH OF FANS COMMENTING DAILY ABOUT SAVING THEIR SHOW.  (Sorry… pet peeve, that.  Either come out and tell us you’re cancelling and why, or admit that you might be reconsidering after the huge outpouring from fans.  Don’t just go, “Oh, that’s nice.  By the way, hope you all will love our new shows!”  No.  You’re doing it WRONG, CN.)

You have a fanbase here, Cartoon Network.  They’re eager and excited for every new episode and very much want to see the story unfold and evolve naturally, the way the creators intended it to.  You want us to show our support?  GIVE US WAYS.  I can only buy so many copies of the DVD to share with my friends before I start wishing that I could buy something for myself, a little reward to sit on my desk or wear when I go out that says, “Hi, I’m a Fantern, and I’m proud of it!”

Like a little Aya figurine whose eyes and the spheres on the back of her hands light up, like when she was fighting the Star Sapphires in the episode …In Love and War.

Just.  Saying.

((I’m sorry if it bugs people that I reblog CN related stuff here, but given our current predicament I thought everyone would be interested in such things))

somebody make a symbiomic titan fandomstuck

((Don’t tempt me I’ve been thinking about it all day))

On Galaluna, parkour is really easy for those limber enough to pull it off. but on Earth it’s a lot of weight shifting. The increased gravity makes me really tired, too. It’s like having more power, but less speed.

((SBT seems to have had its early stages in the Samurai Jack episode XVII, where the trio has intense issues with the gravity, taking away their ability to fly. In SBT now, it hinders’ Lance’s normal building-jumping abilities a bit. Instead of being able to leap across, he has to time the drop down to a lower platform, if you notice!))
